Start of the Play-offs...
The first round of playoffs began against the BCH Ice Dogs. Mitchell took the first game with a score of 4-2 on Friday night at home. Lodewyk Koert scored the first goal of the game assisted by Josh Taylor who also set up Evan Chaffe on the second goal. Joe McCarthy and Tyler Pauli both scored unassisted in the second period and great defensive play by both Trevor Skinner and Jordan Eggleton lead to a scoreless third.
On Saturday night, the team travelled to Clinton and came away with a 3 - 3 tie in overtime. BCH opened the scoring with a long shot. When our goalie took a tripping penalty, Martin Van Bakel stepped on the ice and evened it up with a beautiful goal scored short-handed. BCH led the way into the second but Pauli scored to tie up the score again. Sam Skinner put in our final goal with a ringer from the point. Shots were 28-23 in favour of Mitchell. Brett Adair and Owen Smith were relentless offensively in the overtime period.
