The Hoegy's Farm Supply Pee Wee Reps captured the Kincardine Regional Silverstick Tournament on Saturday with a 4 to 1 win over Saugeen Shores. With that win the boys advanced to the International Silverstick Tournament this weekend in Forest.

In the final the locals got off to a fast start as Vincent Voros scored four minutes into the opening period with assists going to Justin Morrison and Talbot Geiger. Morrison scored a shorthanded goal early in the second after Kyle Mills dug the puck out of the corner and hit Morrison with a pass to spot the locals to a 2 to 0 lead after two periods. The boys started the third strong but could not beat the Saugeen Shores goaltender. Saugeen Shores scored in the middle of the third to make it a one goal game. Kody Eisler made some key saves as Saugeen Shores were pressing hard for the equalizer. With just over two minutes remaining Morrison scored his second of the game and Mills scored into the empty net to seal the win. Morrison finished with two goals and an assist while Geiger had three assists. Morrison was named MVP of the final game.

In Game 1 in Tiverton vs Hanover the boys beat Hanover 5 to 2. Dawson Dietz and Morrison each had two goals. Voros also scored and added two assists. Kody Eisler recorded the win in net.

Game 2 saw the locals play Saugeen Shores and came away with a 5 to 3 victory. Dietz and Voros each had two goals while Cole Hannon had the other goal.  Voros also had two assists for a four-point game while Geiger also had two assists. Eisler again recorded the win in net.

In the semifinal, the locals faced off against BCH for a second time and came away with a 3 to 2 victory in a shootout.  BCH took a 1 to 0 lead after one. Dietz scored in the second to tie it after two periods. Dietz scored his second, early in the third and then 25 seconds later BCH tied it up. The score remained tied after three periods. In OT, nothing was settled which sent the game into a shootout.  After the first two shooters for each team failed to score, BCH scored on their third and last shooter. Voros then scored for the locals to force extra shooters. After the BCH shooter missed, Geiger scored to advance the boys to the finals. Eisler recorded the win in net.

The Pee Wee’s will play in Forest this Friday morning at 8 am against Lambeth, 1:05 pm in Thedford against Tampa Bay Jr Lightning and back in Forest on Saturday morning at 8 am against Westminster, CO, regional champions.
